Welcome to my new website, which is the result of a decision I made about two years ago to write and self-publish my first novel at age 75, although ideas for the story had been percolating for six years. I’ve written for a variety of platforms throughout a four-decade career, but never a novel. I’m a creative guy. I get out of sorts if I don’t have a creative project going, so it seemed like a good idea at the time.
For the most part, it has been a good idea. I’ve enjoyed writing Guardian in Exile: The God Eater’s Hellion, which I envision as book one of a series, God willing. I expect book one to be available by the end of this summer.
Self-publishing, which I had zero experience with, has been and continues to be a challenge, but an interesting one. It’s not straight forward, more like a big, squirming, slightly threatening bundle of squawking issues vying for attention.
If you’re contemplating writing and self-publishing a novel, or if you’re a pro and just want a good laugh, I’ve written all about my ongoing experience from the beginning in my little corner of Substack. My next post will be about the creation of this website.
That’s it for now. It’s back to addressing the issues my very fine line editor found for me.
