Meanwhile, our little town nestled in the mountains of California’s Pacific Northwest has had a relatively warm and unusually wet winter. There’s the usual flooding in flood prone areas, the typical winter rockslides, landslides, and washouts, but precious little snow. While California is free of drought for now, the mountain streams will be running low this summer.
In local news, there’ve been sightings of mountains lions around town, which is not unusual. We do live in their mountains, after all. Our congressional Rep stopped by to christen a different kind of cat for the Utilities District, a Snow-cat purchased through grant funding he pushed through.
